Human Resources Training and Development Coordinator

Job Summary

Summary: Ground Effects is looking for a Human Resources Training and Development Coordinator to join our HR team at the corporate head office in Windsor, Ontario.  The Training and Development Coordinator will work to research and implement best practices for ongoing training in employee excellence, and will hold responsibilities for the coordination, promotion and evaluation of employee development programs. Other responsibilities will include collaboration with management staff to assess, facilitate and identify employee training needs through the performance of gap analysis, job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultations with management.

Job Description

  • Identify training and development needs through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with business managers and human resources department;
  • Design and develop training and development programs based on both the organization's and the individual's needs;
  • Consider the costs of planned programs and keep within established budgets
  • Work in a team to produce programs that are satisfactory to all relevant parties;
  • Developing effective induction program;
  • Devise individual learning plans;
  • Produce training materials for in-house courses;
  • Manage the delivery of training and development programs and devise an overall training strategy for the organization;
  • Ensure that statutory training requirements are met;
  • Evaluate training and development programs;
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of e-learning techniques.
  • Function as a central communication point for training with other departments
  • Coordinate training schedules, locations and materials.
  • Organize and develop training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials such as handouts and visual aids.
  • Provide support to department management to ensure the retention of qualified staff.
  • Other duties as directed by the HR Manager.

Job Requirements

  • Post secondary education in Human Resources Management required.
  • 3- 5 years of work experience in HR required.
  • 2-3 years of work experience in training and development.
  • Experience in the automotive manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Data analysis/research skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide beneficial recommendations to solve HR related issues related to regulations, laws and policies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of change management.
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent typing skills, including proper spelling and grammar.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail required.
  • Ability to use general office equipment.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work.
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
  • Motivated individual with proven initiative.

Work Conditions

  • Travel may be required.
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
